The Torches
The torches of Milan Cortina 2026 are called “Essential” created in two versions: one for the Winter Olympic Games and the other for the Winter Paralympic Games.
The Olympic torch features green and blue hues, while the Paralympic one comes in bronze tones. “Essential” represents a tribute to the excellence of Italian design. Every detail is designed to represent the strength and determination of athletes, as well as their ability to unite people through sport. They are not just objects, but icons, a fundamental part of the history that Milan Cortina 2026 wishes to write and of the legacy it intends to leave to the Olympic and Paralympic Movement. The Olympic and Paralympic torches are a universal symbol of unity, hope, and perseverance, and embody the core values of friendship, respect, and excellence that are at the foundation of the Games. They have a special role as they carry the Flame that symbolizes the light shining within athletes, inspiring them to overcome their limits and compete with integrity, loyalty, and fair play, celebrating diversity and promoting equality among all participants.
