S. Caterina Valfurva hosts a three-day event dedicated to the community of ski mountaineering enthusiasts and curious newcomers to the discipline.
An event open to all skiers of every technical and athletic level, from beginners to professionals.

Experience, films, workshops, presentations, and meetings with athletes and experts, parties… In short, a unique opportunity to try new products on the market and experience the latest trends with exceptional testimonials.

  • 14.00-18.00: Product Test Area (Top adventure Zona Forni - sustainable access)
    The Product Test Area offers the opportunity to try out new products from over 20 partner brands in the field. Skis, boots, ARTVA devices, and accessories: a hands-on occasion to compare various materials in a real environment, with support from the technicians of the participating companies. To test materials, you must register for Skimofestival and collect the event wristband at the accreditation point.
  • 14.00-18.00: Worn Wear by Patagonia (Villaggio La Fonte)
    One of the most responsible actions we can take for the planet is to keep our gear and clothing alive for as long as possible. From Friday to Sunday, Patagonia's Worn Wear will be present, a mobile tailoring service that will give a second life to your broken or damaged technical clothing. Bring your technical garment (clean!) that is torn or damaged: our tailors will repair it. The service is free and is available for all brands, not just Patagonia.
  • 17.00-18.30: Skimo Under the Stars by La Sportiva (Villaggio La Fonte-Plaghera) Experience
    Level: Easy (500 D+) / Duration: 1.5 hours - € 17.50
    An evening excursion at a leisurely pace, designed to experience the atmosphere of night ski mountaineering on a safe and controlled route. Ideal for those wishing to approach the discipline or simply to share an evocative experience under the winter sky, without significant technical commitments.
  • 18.00-19.00: Movie Night Parco dello Stelvio (Villaggio La Fonte)
    An evening dedicated to the authentic storytelling of the mountain with the exclusive screening of the new official film of the Stelvio National Park. A piece that explores landscapes, biodiversity, and life at altitude through a contemporary and engaging lens, directed by Luca Albrisi. A unique opportunity to discover the Park from a new perspective, between spectacular images and profound narration, at the heart of Skimofestival.
  • 19.00-20.00: Skimo Happy Hour (Villaggio La Fonte)
    A welcome aperitif to officially kick off Skimofestival. A moment for participants, partners, and staff to come together and set the atmosphere for the weekend.

    Level: Challenging (1500 D+) - Duration: 6-7 hours - € 30.00
    High mountain excursion with a complete development exceeding 3,000 meters, designed for experienced and well-trained ski mountaineers. Requires excellent physical preparation, autonomy in managing pace, and safety in inversion maneuvers and gear changes in alpine environments. The initial briefing at the Skimo Palace will include operational instructions on safety, progression, condition assessment, and group management. During the experience, a stop is planned with the Meteomont team (carabinieri of the avalanche service). They will be involved in monitoring and evaluating the snowpack, crucial for the subsequent preparation of the avalanche bulletin, including the stratigraphic profile and some stability tests.
  • 9.30-14.30: Skimo Adventure (Location Stelvio National Park) Experience
    Level: Intermediate (1000 D+) - Duration: 5.30 hours - € 30.00
    Sporty excursion, with continuous uphill progression up to 2,700m. Requires a good level of physical preparation and familiarity with ski mountaineering on similar altitudes experienced during the current season. The initial briefing at the Skimo Palace will include safety instructions, gear adjustments, pace management, and group management. During the experience, a stop is planned with the Meteomont team (carabinieri of the avalanche service). They will be involved in monitoring and evaluating the snowpack, crucial for the subsequent preparation of the avalanche bulletin, including the stratigraphic profile and some stability tests.
  • 9.30-13.00: Skimo Discovery (Nature) in collaboration with the Stelvio National Park (Stelvio National Park) Experience Level: Easy (500 D+) - Duration: 3.30 hours - € 30.00
    Nature excursion at a leisurely pace in the Stelvio National Park, ideal for those wishing to approach ski mountaineering mindfully. The contained elevation allows for focus on the environment, landscape reading, and faunal and historical aspects explained by the Park Guide, alongside the Alpine Guide. An accessible, educational, and immersive experience. Departure: Skimo Village La Fonte (alt. 1,750 m.) Itinerary: a naturalistic route in the Stelvio National Park, with the Alpine Guide and the Park Guide in attendance. The path will be defined by the Guides based on snow conditions and group composition.
  • 10.00-14.00: Skimo Easy (Villaggio La Fonte) Experience
    Level: Easy (500 D+) - Duration: 3-4 hours - € 20.00
    Introductory excursion with gradual development and contained elevation. Suitable for those with minimal ski mountaineering experience or those wishing to consolidate technique and pace management on a panoramic route, with regular ascent and return on trail.
  • 10.30-12.30 and 13.00-15.00: Skimo School (Villaggio La Fonte) Experience
    Level: Absolute beginner - Duration: 2 hours - € 10.00
    A true ski mountaineering school in a protected and educationally structured setting. Gear setup, skin management, progression techniques, and initial safety concepts. An ideal experience for those starting from scratch or those new to the sport wanting to truly understand how ski mountaineering works before tackling longer routes. The group will be divided in two based on skill level.
  • 10.30-15.30: ARTVA Field by Arva (Villaggio La Fonte) - Choose your slot here
    Join the ARTVA Field to learn the fundamental techniques of avalanche search and rescue. An essential practical workshop for all ski mountaineers, led by mountain safety professionals.
  • 15.00-17.00: Skimo Safety Camp (Santa Caterina Valfurva) Experience
    Duration: 2 hours - € 20.00
    Practical module on ARTVA and avalanche safety: signal search, group organization, and good practices for safe movement. Ideal for building awareness.
  • 16.00: Skimo Peak & Base Camp by Ferrino (Location Zona Forni / Local Summit) Experience
    Level: Expert (>1500 D+) - Duration: two-day experience - € 150.00
    Complete high-altitude ski mountaineering experience with overnight camping in a glacial environment. A total immersion into the spirit of high mountain, between autonomy, sharing, and technical progression on expansive alpine routes. Requires solid experience in ski mountaineering, excellent physical preparation, and adaptability to the high-altitude winter environment.

    A more structured nature route in the Stelvio National Park, with gradual development and greater continuity in ascent. The experience maintains the environmental interpretation component but requires good autonomy in progression and adequate physical preparation for the elevation. Ideal for those already familiar with ski mountaineering who wish to combine movement, environment, and territorial knowledge. For this experience, it is possible to reserve a Fischer alpine ski, and a brand technician will be present. Book your ski here.

    A women’s experience on International Women’s Day, designed to live ski mountaineering in a shared and dynamic way. Guided ascent along La Linea (Stelvio Natural Trails) with modular development between 250 and 500 meters of elevation, depending on conditions and the uniformity of the group. A moment of sport and connection in a natural setting, enhanced by the technical support of partner LaMunt.
