Founded in 2000 in Milan, on the initiative and under the direction of Elisabetta Sgarbi, La Milanesiana aims to intertwine different knowledge and arts, presenting to the general public the international excellences of the cultural and scientific world: Nobel laureates in literature and science, Oscar-winning filmmakers, and musicians who have received the highest international recognitions. Over the years, the festival has increasingly expanded its scope, and in addition to Milan, it takes place in several cities in Italy, including, for the last ten years, in Bormio.
Every year, La Milanesiana addresses a theme that characterizes and runs throughout the entire edition. This year it is "Desire and Law".
