Founded in 2000 in Milan, on the initiative and under the direction of Elisabetta Sgarbi, La Milanesiana aims to cross different knowledge and arts, presenting to the general public the international excellences of the cultural and scientific world: Nobel laureates in literature and science, Academy Award winners, and musicians who have received major international recognition. Over the years, the festival has increasingly expanded its areas of intervention and, in addition to Milan, takes place in various cities in Italy, including, for the past ten years, in Bormio.
Every year, La Milanesiana addresses a theme that characterizes and runs through the entire edition. This year's theme is "Desire and the Law".
