Monday, June 8, 9.00-1.00 p.m.: closure to vehicular traffic from Loc. Fior d'Alpe, Valdidentro

If the Stelvio is the King, Cancano is surely the Princess.
The road was part of the Imperial Road of Alemagna traveled in the Middle Ages by caravans transporting wine to Central Europe in exchange for salt. It was later adapted for the construction of the Cancano dams.
It is a climb completely exposed to the sun, surrounded by dwarf pines whose fragrance is a remedy to forget the fatigue.
Once you reach the Fraele Towers, the view of the hairpin turns is truly striking. In 2020, it was a stage finish of the Giro d'Italia. From the area of the Cancano Lakes, numerous trekking paths also start.
