Forni Valley, the glaciers of Alta Valtellina
Land of glaciers. When the Stelvio National Park lays down its ace and surprises with glaciers and incredible landscapes from overwhelming nature.
The Forni Valley has been shaped over the centuries by the glacier of the same name, the Forni Glacier. It is the largest valley glacier in Italy and is also the second largest in terms of surface area, in absolute terms.
Curiosities
The name, seemingly contradictory, derives from the historical presence of furnaces for iron smelting, which have now disappeared.
