Quinto Alpini Alpine Hut

The Rifugio Quinto Alpini, the refuge with a yellow roof, in the heart of the Stelvio National Park, at the end of the Val Zebrù, stands in a dominant position on a rocky ridge overlooking the Bernina group, sheltered by the majestic grandeur of the most beautiful peaks of the Ortles – Cevedale Group, including Monte Zebrù (mt. 3,740) and the sharp western ridge of Gran Zebrù (Suldengrat).

Set in a breathtaking context, it is surrounded by an imposing circle of mountains; it opens to the south towards the Confinale group, continuing in the background with the pointed summit that overlooks Bormio, Cima Piazzi, and in the distance, the Swiss side of the most imposing peak of the Rhaetian Alps, the Bernina Group (mt. 4,036 – 4,049).

In a dominant position over the valley, allowing for the observation of the numerous protected animal species present in the Stelvio National Park, including Chamois, Deer, Ermines, and the pair of Bearded Vultures, which have nested for years right inside Val Zebrù. Every detail is carefully attended to in order to convey a sense of home and human warmth. The relaxed and friendly atmosphere will make you feel at ease.
