BY TRAIN
During the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, Trenord will enhance rail service on the Milan - Tirano route, with trains running every 30 minutes and buses will replace trains if necessary due to infrastructure upgrade works in preparation for the Games.
Trains connecting Milan to Tirano will run every 30 minutes during the following time slots:
- Milan - Tirano from 4.20 am to 10.20 pm
- Tirano - Milan from 6.10 am to 11.31 pm (the last train departing Tirano will be at 12.31 am on the days when the evening competitions are sheduled to take place in Livigno).
BY BUS
It will be possible to reach Bormio by bus from Tirano.
The service, provided by Automobilistica Perego, will be enhanced between February 6 and 22 with connecting services at the Tirano and Bormio hubs:
- A060 Teglio - Tirano 6.00 am - 8.00 pm every 60 minutes
- A061 Edolo - Tirano 6.00 am - 8.00 pm every 60 minutes
- A070 Bormio - Tirano 6.00 am - 11.00 pm every 30 minutes (half of them direct/ half of them stopping at all stations)
- A072 Bormio - Livigno 6.00 am - 11.00 pm every 60 minutes (extensions of the direct buses from/to Tirano)
- A073 Bormio - S. Caterina 6.00 am - 11.00 pm every 30 minutes
- A075 Bormio - Le Motte 8.00 am - 6.00 pm every 60 minutes (30 minutes, considering that the A072 also passes through Le Motte)
- A076 Bormio - Aquilone 6.00 am - 8.00 pm every 60 minutes (30 minutes considering that the A070 also passes through Aquilone)
Direct services from Tirano to Bormio will continue to Livigno without changing buses in Bormio; in addition to the scheduled services, buses will be available at stations ready to depart in the event of demand exceeding bus capacity.
For those departing from Milan, Busitalia operates daily services to/from Milan Central Station with stops in Bormio (Bormio Terme), Valdidentro (Isolaccia - Piazza 4 Novembre), and Livigno.
Tickets can be purchased online on the BusitaliaShop website, on Trenitalia channels, on board buses by paying with a debit card, or contactless with the Drop Ticket app.

BY CAR
Holders of tickets for the Olympic competitions who wish to travel to Bormio for the day, and who are not guests of accommodation facilities or owners of second homes, must leave their cars at the Aquilone Park & Ride car park that can be booked online; please note that, in order to book, each passenger must have a ticket for the races.
On competition days, a paid shuttle service will operate from the Aquilone car park to the Bormio Bus Terminal Spettatori with connections to Bormio and Livigno. The shuttles will depart well in advance of the competition schedule to allow sufficient time for all checks.
From the Bus Terminal, you can reach the Stelvio Ski Center on foot in about 20 minutes (1.5 km).
For those wishing to reach Bormio and Livigno from Switzerland via the Munt la Schera Tunnel, please note that from February 5 to 22, 2026, transit through the road tunnel will only be permitted with a special permit or by shuttle bus.
The following categories may apply for special permission to cross the tunnel:
- Olympic vehicles: exclusive card (‘VAPP’) for accredited persons, issued by the Milano-Cortina 2026 organisation.
- Border residents and commuters: ‘Priority Tunnel Pass’, issued by the Municipality of Livigno.
- Guests of accommodation facilities in Livigno: ‘Ordinary Tunnel Pass’, issued by the respective accommodation facility.
