Restricted traffic zones during the Olympics

During the Olympic Games certain areas of the territories involved will be subject to temporary restricted traffic zones in order to make everyone's experience safer and more orderly, reducing traffic and improving local traffic flow.
 
During periods of activation, access will only be granted to vehicles with an Auto Pass Territories.
Without a pass, it will not be possible to enter the restricted traffic areas; it will always be possible to leave the city, even without a pass.  
 
The categories of people who can request the pass are: 
  • residents and owners of second homes
  • commuters
  • commercial and manufacturing businesses
  • accommodation facilities and their guests
  • delivery and logistics services 
  • other authorised categories, 
The restricted traffic zones will be active only on competition days and during specific time slots in the hamlets of Bormio, Valdisotto, Valfurva, Livigno and Valdidentro:
 
  • Zone 1 BORMIO - part of the municipality of Bormio (Combo district) and Valdisotto (Vallecetta side: Piatta, S. Pietro, Gotrosio, Ciuk and Bormio 2000) 
    Days: 6, 7, 9, 11, 14, 16, 19, 21 February - time slot 7.00 am - 4.00 pm
  • Zone 2 BORMIO - the rest of the municipality of Bormio and the entire Valfurva
    Days: 7, 9, 11, 14, 16, 19, 21 February - time slot 7:00 am - 12:00 pm

  • Zone 1 LIVIGNO: Mottolino ski area
    Days: from 4 to 22 February  - time slot  6.00 am – 12.00 am
  • Zona 1 LIVIGNO: Carosello 3000 ski area and via Saroch
    Days: 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 17, 18, 19, 21 February - time slot 8.00 am - 3.00 pm
  • Zone 2 LIVIGNO: the rest of Livigno
    Days: from 4 to 22 February - time slot  6.00 am – 12.00 am
  • Zone 3 LIVIGNO - municipality of Valdidentro up to the Eira Pass
    Days: from 4 to 22 February  - time slot  6.00 am – 12.00 am 
 

Taffic restrictions in the in via pe Piatta tunnel

During the Olympic competitions and the men's downhill trials (4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 11, 14, 16, 19 and 21 February), the Via per Piatta tunnel (on the road leading to Bormio 2000) will be completely closed to traffic and pedestrians from two hours before to one hour after the races.

How to apply for a vehicle pass

Please note that as of 31 January, it is no longer possible to request multi-day car passes, but only daily car passes for occasional access (guests, suppliers, deliveries, etc.).

Collection of Single-day Passes

For those who have not submitted a multi-day request but need occasional transit, it is possible to obtain a day pass through a simplified online procedure on the dedicated website passauto.milanocortina2026

For those who have not submitted a multi-day request but need occasional transit, it is possible to obtain a day pass through a simplified online procedure on the dedicated website.

Once the online request has been completed, you will receive an email with a PDF attachment to print and display on the car dashboard for daily entry.

During the days and times when the filters are in operation, the following Single-day Pass distribution points will be active: 

  • Valdisotto - Car park belonging to the Cepina Cemetery in Via Torraccia
    Recommended for Zone 1 Bormio and Zone 2 Bormio, with activities in line with the activation of the above filters: 6, 7, 9, 11, 14, 16, 19, 21 February 2026, from 07:00 am to 4:00 pm
  • Valdidentro - Car park located in Via Atleti Azzurri d'Italia
    Recommended for Zone 1, 2, 3 Livigno, with activities in line with the activation of the above filters: from 4 February to 22 February, from 06:00 am to 12:00 am
  • Livigno - Via Rasia, former ATC office opposite the lake
    Recommended for Zones 1 and 2 Livigno. Days and times of centre activation to be determined, based on the support capacity of the area.

To collect your pass, you must present the confirmation email you received and a valid ID document.
If you are unable to collect your pass in person, you may delegate a third party to do so. The delegate must present: the confirmation letter, their ID document and a copy of the applicant's ID document.
