Brielli Candies

Brielli candies are a historic product of the Bormio valley, still produced today in a traditional way by the Brielli family, who guard their secret jealously. 

THE HISTORY

In the 1920s, confectioner Teodosio Brielli moved from Milan to Bormio and, thanks to his knowledge, decided to take advantage of the richness of conifers in the valley, particularly that of the Sortenna pine forest near the Sondalo sanatorium, with the valuable collaboration of Prof. Mattiazzo to create a balsamic candy.

Thus were born the renowned "Pine Gems", made from an infusion of mountain pine buds, Bormio honey, and other ingredients still kept secret, characterized by their typical pine green color.
In addition to their unique flavor, these candies boasted significant medicinal and balsamic properties, ideal in those years of medicinal shortages for individuals suffering from respiratory diseases, yet appreciated by everyone.

As the years passed, the company passed from founder Teodosio to his son Carlo, who expanded the range of candies, starting production of those flavored with Taneda (Ivy Herb or Achillea Moschata), Gentian, Stelvio Mint, Honey and its derivatives, up to those with wild berries and more.

Brielli products remain a symbol of quality, genuineness, and originality thanks to the use of alpine herbs and their truly unique taste.
The company continues to innovate and expand its production, and now among their products, we can find, in addition to the candies, dragees, distributed and sold throughout Italy.
