The kitchen at Zia Edda's Cottage is authentic, organic, and zero-kilometer, because everything, or almost everything, is grown, raised, or produced right here, among the meadows and mountains surrounding Santa Caterina Valfurva.

The gardens of the agriturismo, tended with patience and dedication, provide seasonal vegetables with true flavor, picked in the morning and served at dinner.
A bouquet of aromatic herbs grows wild among the stones and adds a touch of mountain fragrance to every dish. The cheeses come directly from the nearby pasturelands. The meat comes from small local farms, where animals live in respect of their natural cycles. The eggs, jams, honey, and flours tell the honest and short supply chain of the valley, where food is never anonymous, but always has a face, a story, an origin you can feel.

Sitting at the table here means embarking on a journey through the flavors of the most authentic Valtellina: from handmade pizzoccheri made with buckwheat flour, to taroz, to sciatt that are crispy outside and hide a heart of warm cheese. And then the aged cheeses, alpine butter, rustic cold cuts with a strong aroma, and the homemade desserts that evoke childhood and warm stoves in winter.

Every dish is prepared with simple but excellent quality ingredients, following the traditional Valtellinese recipes passed down through generations.
